Presenter: Judge Scott Donaldson

Judge Donaldson has 18 years of trial and appellate judicial experience, serving on the Alabama Court of Civil Appeals and Circuit Court. Before taking office, he had an extensive trial and appellate law practice for 18 years. He has been an attorney or trial judge in over 180 jury trials and in hundreds of bench trials and is the author of over 950 appellate opinions. He currently has a mediation, arbitration, private judge, trial and appellate law practice and is a member of the NationalAcademy of Distinguished Neutrals.

Course Description:

A practical evidence and trial skills course for lawyers of all experience levels, focusing on understanding and applying the most common evidence rules and evidentiary principles applicable to jury and bench trials of all types (including civil, criminal, domestic relations, juvenile, and probate). Whether you are just starting your practice or would like a refresher on the most common evidentiary issues in trials of all types, this interactive full-day learning experience will help you improve your trial skills in both bench and jury trials, increase your confidence in the courtroom, and enhance your understanding and analysis of evidence topics in motions and trial/appellate briefs.
